15th Annual Friends of the Farmington Library Garden Tour to be Held on June 8, 2013

Once again several Farmington homeowners will open their unique gardens to the public to support the Farmington libraries. The 2013 Garden Tour will be held Saturday, June 8, 10:00am – 4:00pm, rain or shine. This year an optional lunch will available at the Barney Library and there will also be a plant sale.

Thanks to the generosity of the homeowners and local businesses that sponsor the event, the Friends are able to fund the adult and children’s programming at the libraries.

The Friends invite local businesses to advertise in the ticket book which is given to all tour attendees. Sponsoring businesses will also be promoted online on the Friends website and Facebook page. Please email for more information on purchasing a Garden Tour ad.

Additionally, a “mini-book sale” of gardening books in the Book Nook at the Main Library, "Think Spring". The sale will be held beginning Tuesday, March 5 through March 23. There are hundreds of books on gardening, container gardening, pruning shrubs, perennials, annuals, gazebos, walkways, trees.

The tour is sponsored by the Friends of the Farmington Library Committee.  All proceeds support Library programs and activities and are used to purchase items such as computers, e-books, DVD’s, and furniture for the libraries.  Tickets will be available in June at both libraries and will be $20.00 in advance and $25.00 on the day of the tour.
