Alta, A Renaissance Wind Trio to Perform at Farmington Library

Mark your calendars for an exciting afternoon concert sponsored by the Friends’ Remembrance Fund Committee and the Friends of the Farmington Library.

Alta, A Renaissance Wind Trio will be performing on Sunday afternoon, February 5, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Community Room of the Main Library at 6 Monteith Drive, Farmington.

Alta’s unique sound and innovative programming has been delighting audiences throughout the Northeast for over twenty- five years.

Alta was founded as La Primavera Consort in 1983 when founding members Gwen Winkel and Paul Flight (currently with The Concord Ensemble) discovered their love of recorder music. Currently Alta performs a regular concert series at Trinity Episcopal Church, sharing their love of early music with the greater Hartford area.

The Friends of the Farmington Library invite the Farmington Community to come and listen to these extraordinary sounds produced from an expanded collection of renaissance wind instruments presented by Alta.

Refreshments will be served. The program is free. Please register online at www.farmingtonlibraries.org or call the library 860-673-6791.
